When: December 26,2007
Where: Lower Levels, My apartment
With: Rebel Xt, 18-55mm, No PS
Who: Me...Thought it would be wise not to post the other pics I took of my family

LOL @ My amature Skillz

Umm one question- What do you guys do to compensate for low light- I had the ISO cranked in almost all the pics...I was trying to balance shutter speed with my aperature value but its tough to make it look good

Btw none of the pics have been PS'ed, just converted from CR2 to Jpeg

Tips??

Thx

Can't help you with your camera / pic editing questions....

But those are really nice pics. A very XMas-sy feel to them  Smiley

u should tune the exposures and white balance when you open the RAWs
and you should PS, it's just a digital dark room, it is not cheating

for low lights, use a tripod, or a faster(larger aperture) lens

Ya just haven't had time to tweak yet in PS, Ill get around to it one of these days lol

I had my sights on this, but the aperature range is less then my f/3.5-5.6 I have now.

My best bet is probably gunna be using a slower shutter with a tripod until I get a new lens Smiley

Seeing as I usually only ever shoot at night, buying a tripod for 50 bucks is better than spending 500 on a new lens for the time being

if u are really into photography, u should invest in a more sturdy tripod, Manfrotto and Gitzo are some good brands, yes they are expensive but u won't have to upgrade them when you upgrade your camera and lens, cuz they last forever

I will sell my 17-85 IS USM when i save up enough to upgrade, I will let you know
