I believe there is an issue on the RX-8 with oil consumption. At one point Mazda was recalling all RX-8's and doing some tests. Engines were replaced under warranty.

I know rx-7's tended to burn alot of oil- Thought they fixed it with the 8 As if that car wasn't enough of a pig on gas, its also a pig on oil
