So if an earthquake hit here, what do you guys suggest I do being in Richmond at work?

Make a run for the knight st bridge? There is the jacombs street overpass that goes over highway 91 that gets pretty high. I was thinking I could try running up there. Or try to climb to the roof of the building I'm at (I'm on the second floor of a dealership here).

Until the ground below it sinks.  What's scary is that the soil in Richmond is "soft" that's why you don't see highrises more than 10 storeys, mostly low rise buildings only.  And of course the fact that it's below sea level is a scary thought.

See I don't think car would work. We're in the automall and it's congested with workers who might flock to cars. And there are only two exit points out of here. I envision a traffic jam happening really quick

Actually, the reason that the buildings in Richmond are shorter is due to regulations set forth for the airspace surrounding YVR. They have strict regulations for the height of the buildings within a certain radius of the airport. River Rock is the highest they can go currently, and even when they built that they had to apply for a variance to add additional height.

When I lived in Richmond I experienced a small one. Then when I worked downtown I experienced another one. The building was shaking and surprisingly no building management came to discuss it with the tenants. Everyone laughed and went back to work. I think if it was worse, people wouldn't be laughing and shouting what to do next? So unprepared this city I believe.

I work in the Harbour centre with the Restaurant on top.  When the last earthquake hit downtown, the building swayed about 5 feet.  When the big one hits, My building will be on top of the Seabus terminal.
