well i guess i have to admit that asian girls are harder to please when it comes to materials. Dont get me wrong its not that we believe money > love.( at least i dont ). Love is what we seek, just that we seek more. And i think for a lot of the girls, they're so used to that lifestyle provided by their parents. Their mom uses Hermes and Chloe bags and buy them LVs and Burberry when they're 15. They honestly think it isn't such a big deal when their bf buy them sth like that. However, its a really big deal if their christmas or birthday gift is under 600 bucks!
One big issue is that girls like to compare. Amongst a bunch of girl, you would hear things like, " ohhh that's a nice bracelet" " yeah my boyfriend got it " " oh really? how sweet.." " yeah he got it at HR. it was $$$$$"
1) dont call the girl shallow, this is how girls like to brag. << just imagine your gf buying you a 5000 dollars turbo, you'd brag too >> 2) the girl feels loved when their man buy them what they like ... and most girls like expensive stuff.. 3) when you hear sth like that from your friend, you'd sit down and think.. how come my bf never get ME anything? and spend all his money on his car but not me?
Girls are a little more complicated. Kev's right tho, there ARE girls out there that dont care. you just gota find the one with the same value as you.

My fiance and I have a system that sort of works. If she wants to spend $1000 on bag, I'm allowed to go out and spend $1000 on anything I want. And vice versa. So, at the end of the month, when we look at our finances, we've suddenly dumped $2000 instead of $1000 on useless toys. Since we're both trying to save money, it's mutually beneficial not to go out and buy expensive crap because it will always end up costing both of us twice as much. She doesn't buy many bags anymore and I haven't modified my car. But we have saved a lot of money over the years by always considering how our spending impacts each other.
that's a nice method must have been fun spending the $1000 on anything you want eh? haha

No, he's not allow to ! He bought lunch and he need to save money! kekeke
cagemaster! My wife says the same thing, though I never listen. Then she goes out and buys a $150 purse. Now that's a waste of money. and NO, its not because of me. Somebody needs to keep up with his plan on buying a house, and the house wont' be under my name lol and yes a $150 purse is cheap, you should go home and compliment your wife! lol

that is a nice way, but i have to say, it'd only works if you'd been with the girl for a very long time and if you're both saving for a common goal, such as getting married.

i have no complaints about girls being materialistic, i just see it as how guys would spend just as much on their cars, and / or even on themselves too so it's pretty equal

What ever happened to girls going out and bragging about how their boyfriends/SO made them eggs benedict and vanilla soy latte while they were arising from their slumber then followed by a nice candle lit bubble bath where the dude washes her hair and gives her a nice gentle thorough scrub down. Towel her dry and leads her to the bed where the scent of aromatherapy oils burn and fills the room to aid in her relaxation while he warms massage oils in his palm before commencing in an hour long full body massage followed by 2 hrs of foreplay where it leads to your 'o's and not his because it's about you and not him. Cuddle and share stories in bed before you both head to the shower together. Get dressed and soft kisses with the exchange of 3 little words before heading out to meet your friends to share this story? Holy crap!! Actually, that sounds like tooooo much work. I think going to HR to pick up a bag is way easier. Yay to how society has progressed to what is considered norm nowadays. Gives me more time to work on my car I guess. mzr My 'old school' theory cannot be bought. She will not bump into a friend that has the same (story) bag, necklace, bracelet or what-have-you. Unless if I so happen to be banging that friend of hers.

Very true... darn i'm kinda bad, i think i'm still at the age where i like beautiful things but good thing is im never uncomfortable to talk about money with my other half. I don't have complaints as long as she understand that I have to spend too and make reasonable requests
very true. to me, i like my man to be happy and be spoiled with what he likes too, so i'd try to buy him whatever he likes. but meanwhile, i'd tell him not to spend any money on stuff he likes cuz he needs to save up... and then when he DOES buy sth for himself, i'd be tell hiim to stop buying things! if you're going to spend money, at least spend it on me! hahaha ok j/k on this one.
