today as i was driving by knight street bridge northbound into vancouver, coming up in front of me was cop cruiser, ambulance, southbound parked firetruck, another ambulance, and undercover cop cruiser, another accident i saw with my own eyes, remain was a 350z modded, all airbag deployed, front destroyed, looks like totaled to me.
i just want everyone to be careful driving on knight street bridge, for some reason, accidents do happen very often on that bridge, from the mazdaspeed6 in the past, my own car lost control and slammed into the divider, new 08 lancer flipped while racing an Sti, and i dunno what this 350z was doing, but this was all within that past 6 month, all i've seeen, not counting what i didnt see.. just want everyone to slow down driving on that bridge, from what i observe, all accidents happen at simular locations, the 350z today was parked in almost the same spot, no farthur than approx 10 meters from where my car was parked after hitting the divider, same with the lancer, and the speed6 if i still remember.
i believe something is wrong with that bridge. my opinion, but thats one of the bridge that jsut cause so many life threats, pay extra attention! looks wide, looks straight, looks flat, looks easy, but what i have seen really is telling me that bridge is not for risking your life! again! DRIVE SAFE!

Usually when it rains there's accidents because ppl drive so close together so they don't let other ppl merge or cut in and when someone forces their way in, it usually causes a chain reaction accident. How did you lose control and hit the divider? Were you going the speed limit?

There are bumps along the bridge and because of rain and tight lanes, a bounce or two would definitely be more than enough for you to lose control. Also, aside from rush hour, people tend to go quite fast on it.

Just take it easy out there. I did a lot of stupid stuff and had a lot of close calls in my younger, dumber days.

The bridge is fine, but people don't understand that a bump at 80km/h is a lot different than a bump at 140km/h. Just think of all the times a bump had made your steering wheel jerk to one side while driving 80km/h....now imagine that happening at 140km/h.

Knight St. Bridge is fine compared to the Pattullo Bridge. It's narrow, curves, and has rough pavement.

I used to have to go over that bridge 8 times a week within 3 days. This was back when I was 17. It's quite bad. I've made it a habit to leave early and take the highway.

I live just one block away from Knight...I heard the sirens around 8pm? I guess ppl don't slow down when going down the slope and not paying attention to the merging traffic going onto Knight from Marine Drive....I always hated the design for that merging spot... Well guys, drive safe and be extra careful Another thing, my mom told me that Victoria Drive section was blocked off around 7pm....she heard there was a bomb threat... Anyone know about it?

I can pretty much say all accidents on Kinght are speed related...respect the conditions and speed limit, the brigde is fine (it's a straight bridge)

oversteer, first you have to steer into a corner first
if he just loss tractions at the back while going straight, it is just a loss of control

There are lots of things wrong with Knight St. in general.
So many drivers can't stay in their own lanes when it is straight, and they throw that curve in around 56th Ave. plus not being able to see the light is very unsafe. I've seen big rigs lock it up and the back of their load starts coming around.
Left turners going up and down the hill are going to get into accidents over and over again. They have to cross 3 lanes, traffic moves at different speeds on all lanes, the first two lanes will stop and then somebody t-bones them in the 3rd lane. And when going down the hill, people signal and brake too late and causes a huge accordion affect.
The bridge deck is uneven and in the winter months gets potholes at the base of the hill. Stay on the left lane and towards the barrier for the smoothest route. Not much can be done about that because the individual slabs are designed for expansion and contraction.
After the bridge, in Richmond, after the Bridgeport exit, try to stay in the right lane. Lots of puddles after heavy rain can cause hydroplaning. Pay careful attention and you can see where the barrier has taken a few hits, and it's always right after the puddle spots.
