As topic states! Looking for a new or used camera that I can take some decent pictures at least better than a camera phone, I guess. I'm fairly new to cameras so let me know about your suggestions. Looking for one that I can plug USB into computer and store them in there. Let me know, thanks.

What's your budget? What type of camera do you want? dslr? simple point and shoots? If you're looking to buy online, you can check out http://www.bhphotovideo.com/, www.adorama.com or amazon.

I like Canon P&S cameras. I have an old S30 Powershot that has served me well. I was looking at getting the SD1000, it's <$200, is very compact and should be coming down in price as the replacement SD1100 comes out. But really, in that price range, they all work pretty much the same and it comes down to which styling you like and which one is more comfortable.

Cool thanks, does anyone know where I can get this for the lowest price? I don't mind waiting for the newer version to come out so I can save a few buck or two.

IS is overrated.
EDIT: Let me explain. Just as it is with MP ratings it is all a big marketing push. For the Fuji, you get a high end point and shoot camera (albeit a little older) at a low price. The SD1000 is simply a lower end camera as compared to the F40fd. Heck, you actually pay MORE for a camera with lower pixel count if you really wanted to nickel and dime the specs (as of current prices at NCIX anyways).

would you pick A720IS or the Fuji?
I find optical IS very useful, not the fake IS of casio that only turn up the ISO

for my G9, the IS is somewhat useful i can take photos with shutter speed as slow as 1.3 seconds without hand shaking (F2.8 ) hm actually i forgot about what ISO hahah could be 80 but ofcoz that depends on the users too

I would've loved to have IS in my E-410. There have been many times, where I wish I could shoot with just a bit slower shutter speed.
