So I've been looking to trade my 02 Acura RSX and thought that a Mazda3 Sport was the best choice for me.  I found a 2005 Mazda3 Sport GT at Morrey Mazda North Shore and they gave me a good deal.  I'm suppose to pick up the car this Tuesday but I've been corresponding with my sales representative because I've now come across with the door-lock-Mazda3-curse!  I'm starting to get cold feet.  What would you guys do?  Huh

Another thing, when I expressed concern, the sales rep said they would install the door guard/plate.  After reading the forums I saw that I should be entitled to a shock sensor as well.  Knowing these things, I feel a little better but am still scared at the possibility of finding a dent on my "new" car.  It's honestly very upsetting!

the issue has died down quite a bit compare to a year ago when you hear people on the forum saying their car got a dent like every day or 2

welcome
in regards to your question.. the issue HAS died down, but nothing 'prevents any potential' kick ins..  if you buy the car at this stage knowing full well about it and don't mind, then by all means.  Otherwise, expect some punk to give it a try eventually.

if u do get the 3,
just do what you would do in any car actually when you are parking.
Find a location that is on a busy street, well lighted and your car would be visible.
You may even want to invest in an aftermarket security system that has a visible led blinking.
As always, do not place anything of high value in the car.
do not place anything so that it is visible like mp3 players, gps, sunglasses cuz thieve may as well just smash and dash
like any other vehicle

Beware of Morrey North Shore.

Other than that, they will install it for you and the shock sensor I am not sure if it was only certain years or not.  It's died down a bit, I bought an 08... and I knew about the problem. I don't park it in a garage or anything.  Unfortunately with any car, break ins are not 100% preventable.

Welcome though! You from the north shore?

Why do you say beware of of Morrey of North Shore?  Have you had bad experiences?  So far I'm still waiting for my sales rep to get back to me on the shock sensor.  He said they'll definitely do the door plate, but was unsure about the sensor and said he'd have to check with Service.  Since I'm buying an 05 GT, I should be entitled to it, right?  If you, or any of you guys, can give me pointers it would be appreciated!

Yep, am a North Shore boy.

Not here on the North Shore actually.  But I have been living here for the past 6 years now.  Hey, where'd you get your PIAA wipers?  And what's the stuff you got from N-Motion?

To say I have had problems is an understatement.  Come to our wings night and I will tell more. For now I am trying to keep it off the forums, or I can pm you.

Well it's good to see that there will be someone else from North Van Smiley

Well I'm pleased to say that I'm now an owner of a Mazda3!  Picked it up this afternoon at the dealership and loving it.  I'm already thinking about tuning it a bit, but I think I'll hold off and love it as it is for now!
