The photo was taken at around 7:30pm at night....the sun was setting at the time. We were on the road going towards the bridge at the time, but by the time we got there (which was about 5mins time), it was almost entirely covered in fog. |

    White bedsheet from Superstore on no-tax day. $15 got me a white bedsheet to do photos with, and new pillowcases to boot  Lighting: -in all four, Sunpak 383 Super backlighting the subject to create a halo -first two, Vivitar 3700 on half power through umbrella -last two, Vivitar 3700 on ground @ half power, bare |

Great models. The light is a bit bright but it helps wash away the background and focus the eye on the dancer's movement.

Thanks guys I think the lighting is a hit or a miss this time...it's a matter of taste as to what looks good here. I wanted to create the effect of light wrapping around the dancer, so like Kev said, it hides the background a bit as well as focus the attention onto the movement. But I agree with blamo, the lights are somewhat bright and also draws attention away. |

Anyways, time for some China pictures! I'm in Beijing right now, passing by my 2nd day. Two days so far have been pretty physically demanding because of the weather! Around 40 degrees for both days.  @ the Temple of Heaven  The Temple of Heaven  Temple of Heaven again  Ceiling tiles @ the Imperial Palace  Meridian Gate (entrance to the Forbidden City)  Mr. Mao  Ducky @ the Great Wall of China  Bird's Nest ....and many more on my flickr page (or Facebook!). |

^same.. i went last in 2002, and i absolutely loved it there (in terms of tourist spots)..
I would love to take some pics of the temple of heaven again. i'm so jealous
only thing i'd be sketched out about with bringing my camera to china is, getting mugged lol.. a lot of sketchy people there.
