Thanks guys!

Rooney, PP is post processing -- basically the amount of work you do after taking the picture, as in, photoshop etc.

HDR (high dynamic range) is when you shoot multiple exposures (over exposed, under, etc) and combine the shots to get the different details from all the different levels of exposure. Don't know if that makes sense. If not, my good friend PlatinumDragoner gave me this link:

thanks ash...so with the HDR...you're using aperture priority mode, playing around with the EV?  If you are taking multiple shots of a subject, don't you need a tripod so that you are not moving the camera?

Exactly! If its broad daylight, with a fast enough camera (I can do 8FPS) you can generally burst a 3 shot bracket quickly enough where you don't need a tripod, but in darker lighting, a tripod is a must.

Two more from a sunset tonight, one normal, one way over HDR'd for fun!

I'm using Photomatix 4.02.. I hear some umm, "mexican" sites have it if you look around.

I normally do a 5-bracket shot (+2,+1,0,-1,-2) and then do the tone mapping in photomatix! You can do as many as you like though, sometimes if really want detail I'll do a 7 bracketed shot!

Thanks ArtOfPants!
