so if im planning to drive to tofino for 3 days, (206km per way, trip from nanaimo ferries) is it better to fill up in twassen b4 departuring? fill up in nanaimo? fill up on the way to tofino? (it seems like im going to be driving in a long stretch of road (hwy 4) without alot of human contact =0 its my first time to anywhere on the island other than victoria, and dont know jack shit about the roads or gas prices
are there thngs i should watch out for? alot of wild animals? popo's w/ speed traps? possible "hitch-hiker" muggers ? dont stop for anything? (the cars full of ppl anyways so no room)

Fill up in the lower mainland.
Lots of cops on the island highway there's a major speedtrap a little ways out of Nanaimo. Speed limit goes from 100 to 60 - watch out! Also lots around Port Alberni.
The highway from Pt. Alberni to the coast is a lot of fun, but watch out for oncoming traffic cutting corners, big trucks too!
Have a great time, say hi to my parents (they're out there this weekend too).

gas on the mainland is cheaper...
watch out for road work along the road to tofino if you take the inland route...if you want a better drive head to gold river instead!

gas here is 139.9 has been for almost a week. There are several areas where the cops sit between Nanaimo(Where I work) and Qualicum (where I live) definately moreso between Nanoose and Qualicum,if you have a GPS I can give you exact coordinates. There are signs everywhere saying its Illegal to pick hitchhikers,so I wouldn't try.

ooo thank you, we will be getting a GPS from somewhere, and i'll definitely input those points of interest not that i'll try risking speeding actualy, but i'll pay extra attention to those areas
