hey let's keep the freaky part in the thread that it belongs to before this one gets whored too

i'll admit what Bertuzzi did was WRONG, i'm not saying that it wasn't but some people fail to look at the WHOLE picture.

i think they should just ban fighting from hockey

it's all a bunch of a bullsh*t anyways (having fighting not hockey in general)

I don't agree with Bertuzzi's actions but this wouldn't have happened if the NHL did their job and suspended Moore for that hit on Naslund. How that wasn't called a cheapshot is beyond me. As a Canucks fan, I am excited to see Bertuzzi start the season! Naslund, Bertuzzi, Morrison? The 'West Coast Express' line is back!

As for Richard Park, that is great news. Canucks management realizes how the rule changes are going to benefit speed guys like Park. Ex Canuck Geoff Sanderson would benefit from these rule changes too.

YES EXACTLY it was NHL who didn't do their part.....

moore's consequence is WELL DESERVED In my most humble opinion, and the dogpile had certainly did way more impact than the initial hit

im quite excited that bert is back.....but i remember last yr that he said he may not play in vancouver again...and he sold his house in west van too remember??

anyways, did not hear about the rules change... wuts that fuzz all about??

it's all part of business tactics to have "entertainment" so it's also the same difference between WWF and olympic wrestling

Inno and King Benny,

Hey guys I really agree on your points. I think if you hit the leading scorer in the NHL and the leading scorer of our team (which was doing very well) yourt gonna get nailed big time. Back in the days of Gretzky, if you hit him or took him out, you would have been hunted down like a dog and taken out by some goon on the team (Gretzkys on ice body guards). What they should have done is suspended Moore BIG TIME for taking out the leading scorer in the NHL. Moore is kind of a junior wannabe goon. If Moore was properly suspended it all probably would have worked out...well I better stop beating this dead horse eh. Anyhoo....this year of hockey is looking good so far. I think the Canucks have some decent potential.

Moore is a nobody and is just trying to milk his 15 minutes of fame for what its worth, because even if he came back to play he'd still be a nobody.

Count me in for the hockey pool too! Sounds like a great idea.

In regards to Bertuzzi, the uncertainty regarding his punishment was punishment within itself. It took the NHL far too long to administer something. Furthermore, had Moore not been hurt the way he was, Bert would have had a much lighter punishment. This was merely a consequence of Moore being paraded over media outlets in a neck brace.

Did Canucks not pick up enough players in this free agent sweepstakes? No. In fact they are better off now then they were last year as the teams ahead of us such as the Avs & Wins lost key players. Whereas the Canucks have only lost minor pieces such as Sopel & Malik.

The weaker teams have all leveled up. Finally the Stanely Cup could be won based on smart moves & team chemistry rather then stacked lineups & deep pockets.

The Canucks inked winger Anson Carter to a 1 year $1 million deal last night. I'm torn about this one. In one respect Anson was traded twice last year which makes me think he may be an expendable type of player (Jan Hlavac anyone?). His one asset being that he scored 20+ goals a couple of years back and team's betting on the chance he could do it again. Yet, for $1 million it's not a bad pickup as he could be the grit necessary to complete the Sedin line.

However the most troubling part is the possibility Carter was signed due to the Canucks inability to sign Cooke up to date. I hope this isn't a patch job so that Nonis could trade Cooke off. Inevitably Cooke is a vital part of the grit & soul on this team. He is to the Canucks what Kirk Maltby or Kris Draper are to the Wings. A vital piece. Furthermore, with Chubarov leaving for Russia it's even more necessary that the Canucks retain Cooke IMO.

So what do you folks think? Carter signing a blessing in disguise or the calm before the impending shit storm when Cooke is hustled out?
