Just purchased a Canon XSi with the kit 18-55IS. I figure I'll pick up some new lenses down the road when my piggy bank fills up.
Anyways, I was wondering what crucial accessories I need to get. I have a decent tripod that I'm totally content with, I have normal SD cards but I know I need a new SDHC (either an 8 or 16GB) What's a solid card at a reasonable price? I've been looking at the Sandisk Extreme III because of it's reviews, but they are pricey. And does anyone have any bag suggestions? I need some solid protection as I tend to toss my stuff around with the rest of my art supplies. But I'll be cautious when it's out of the case of course.

crumpler, lowe pro, and Tamrac are some good brand for bags
name brand cards are worth it, u don't want to have corrupted data for ur important shots and they are also consistent

Oh sweet. Thanks Dan. So I'm thinking of picking up an Extreme III 8GB off of eBay. Trustworthy?
Any other suggestions?

I agree. Ebay has been notorious for having fake memory. Calumet sometimes have BOGO specials.

Kev, G9 would be a good alternative for high quality photos but low maintenance and best of all, no expensive accessories to tempt you into the money pit I really want one myself

Yah it wouldn't even let me do it online unless I had it shipped to my door which would have cost me an extra $16. That whole pick up in store thing was unavailable so I had to do a layaway deposit and I'll be getting a call in the next couple of days. They have them in their warehouse apparently. Best Buy had the same deal but ended their sale before midnight last night whereas FS kept it on.

I've just price beat about 4 customer inquiries on the FS price for the XSI so the end price was $666.66.
Lucky for them. LOL!

You could have bought it from me for the price I listed and pick it up at one of our stores.
