Hi guys,
I have been looking around for awhile for the Xsi.. wondering if I should spend a bit more money to get the second lens EF-S 55-250 IS mm Lens. Any experience or comment on it?? I am totally new to photography

The deal at Broadway Camera is very good right now for that lens I believe. No GST too. This weekend only though.
The 18-55 IS + the 55-250 IS should suffice for most shooting.
Just be careful...DSLR's are a HUGE money pit!

The 55-250 is a decent zoom lens. However, some advice. Everyone who starts out goes out and buys a zoom lens because they want to cover the 18-200 range. They don't care about quality, they just want to cover the zoom range. However, soon you realize you only use a certain range and you crave quality. For me, it's the 10-50 range. Rather than dumping money on the kit lens and zoom, I'd recommend buying a body only and spending the money on a 17-50 range lens that has a F2.8 constant apperature, ie Sigma 18-50 F2.8 or Tamron 17-50 F2.8. You'd probably be happier with the results in the long run when you toss away your kit lens.
But yeah, DSLR's are a big money pit. Accept the fact that you'll be buying lenses that cost more than the body.
