I find there is a lack of separation between the subject and the background.
Under exposing the background a few stops and using strobes to light the crab would have an awesome effect.

There seems to be too much going on in the background. Shadow, pattern on the wall, empty space and so on.

LOL....I guess what I would say is that since a picture is 2D, if there's no distinction between the background and the object, it'll look flat.
For this picture, the colour scheme is so similar, that the crab doesn't jump out.
It's a nice picture with nice details though!

point and shoot point and shoot lol. the angle of where i took the pic is kinda weird, if i aim a more to the left will be the restaurants and really bright lights along the dock, more right will be more boats but they aren't as illuminated. so i just pointed in that direction and press the shutter. I really like that. I'm going to use it on my desktop for a while K?
