So you don't like the new Mazda 3 sport? How about a CX-7? The new CX-7 is coming with the same engine as the 3, as in the normally aspirated 2.5L with 161 HP. At least in the states. The Turbo motor is a carryover. http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/05/geneva-2009-2010-mazda-cx-7/

All the chrome bits look terrible. Not liking it.
Nor the new fog placement.
The 4cyl is actually confirmed for Canada, not the US yet.

Anyone test drive one yet? I may go tomorrow. I am finally gonna break down and get an cuv. I've been looking at every crossover suv and I keep coming back to this. For it's price point to feature ratio and overall styling for under 30k (gx). I cannot find anything really comparable. Any other rivals in this price and option range? Cheers

if you're willing to go used there are a few more options. Toyota Rav4, 4runner (it'll be a few years old but still very solid). For new, everything looks pretty expensive...I know the base rav4 with the V6 isn't exactly cheap either but you may want to look at it as well as either the SR5 or sport 4runner. But as you said, for features and the price it's sitting it, you can't beat it.

My rav is a sport v6 with the moonroof option. I didn't really get anything else on it...and yeah, it was freakin expensive!!! If you're considering the 4 banger on the Rav...don't bother. It gets almost the same mileage as the v6 and it's a dog on hills...especially if you're hauling people and gear around. I was really turned off the 4 cylinder when I test drove it. There really wasn't a whole lot of updates done on the rav aside from cosmetics (side mirror turn signals, updated front face). For the 09 and up, there's a button that allows you to disable your traction control system. It will come in handy...I got into a couple of situations when the traction control was a hindrence...especially while driving through knee/thigh deep snow. If it makes any difference to you, the 08 models and up...if my memory is correct is made in NA. I could be wrong, thinking it maybe 09 but not too sure.
Another one you may want to consider would be the highlander but I think they are way over priced for what you get. You might as well hop into a lexus suv at that price point.

After getting butt raped with the MS3 buying it new, I am not buying new again. A 1-3 year old car from the states is the way to go.

We def wanna buy new.
I'll never buy new again. Let some other poor bugger take the depreciation and expensive first few services. A nice cuv to look at would be a couple year old Acura RDX with tech package. They handle incredibly well, they are very comfortable, really peppy and an all around great vehicle IMO.

When do we get the diesel with the stop-start system? It's been for sale in Europe for two years now. GIMMIE the oil burner!

the rdx looks small, real small. plus why is there soooo many 09's for sale or lease takeover. overpriced? shitty ride? uncomfortable? for $33K avg, i could judt buy a cx-7 new. i dunno. too many f-in choices.

I like the RDX. The interior is really nice too. Try finding one in the states with the Tech package Todd. They hold value better than the Mazda utes too I think.

The updated Outlander is really nice and handsome looking. And it has a ton of cool features if you option it up.
