is there a tow hook on front bumper? Just need to find the right tread and Rhoplate will work. It is legal as it is permanently mounted and on the frontest part of the car.

Perm mounted, meaning the hideaway one would be illegal even if always displayed eh?

I am sure you can custom make a mount....just need to get the car first so you can see what is behind the bumper for you to tag on.

I think your plate must be viewable at all times, so that hidden one is probably illegal.

The Rho-Plate should be legal as long as the plate is mounted properly and is still at the front most point of the car. And it only works if you have a tow hook up front somewhere.

Only while driving? Not just the fact that it has the "ability" to be hidden?

Yes, but only when operating the vehicle

You can have the car parked, hide the plate and take pictures or whatever

I found this on bclaws.ca

Attachment of number plates
3.011 Number plates issued for a vehicle under the Commercial Transport Act or Motor Vehicle Act must be attached

(a) one plate to the front and one plate to the rear of the vehicle, if 2 number plates are issued for a vehicle, and

(b) to the rear of the vehicle, if a single number plate is issued for a vehicle.

[en. B.C. Reg. 279/2006.]

Wouldn't this mean if I didn't order a front plate bracket and the dealer only issued a single plate... That I could legally drive without a front plate? Since (a) there would be no where to attatch it. and (b) it wasn't issued?        (c) Are they required to issue 2 if there is no front bracket?

i think you are supposed to mount it on even if there is no front brackets
they just drill 2 holes on and put your plate on directly to the bumper

and each license plate "pack" has 2 plates

I mean when it is unattended, ou would get your car tow and/or impounded if you have no plate on your car while it is stationary in a public highway.

and as long as ICBC give you 2 plates...you have to mount front and back.

I'm gonna go ahead and try the hideaway.. and just keep it showing whenever it's in public... only put it down for photo's... That'll mean it'll always be displayed on the front most part. whenever not in my garage or somewhere secluded for a photo session.... I don't know the odd's of someone coming and inspecting it and realizing that you can hide it and then giving me shit for that....

Got a "tentative" estimation of how long it'll take for my car...  Don't have an exact date yet as the dealer I guess is waiting to hear back from GM once they pull the order. But the dealer seems to think sometime in July it should be here.

Probably going to add some ambient footwell lighting as soon as it gets here, as well as a new spoiler and a new grill. I've also got it coming with the ground effects body kit. After that, I'll order some rims & then contemplate possibly CAI/Exhaust n some other things. (we'll see) That's already a lot more $$$ than I wanted to spend. Have to stop looking at Super chargers...

Waiting till July is going to suck.... 8 weeks was his guess, from when the order got put through. But with all that's going on with GM... who knows. could be sooner, or *knock on wood* later.

you can add footwell lights for cheap from buying from autolismo (sponsor here). Install is very simple.

I would also do one mod at a time so you can spread out the excitment.....and knowing what the part did for your car.

Yep, had that in mind already after reading up on the LED posts Wink . Just want to make sure for the first while that any mods I do don't interfere with warranty.

As for the dealership chops. I think I'm safe timewise since I've already ordered & I haven't heard of anything from my dealer about that yet. I guess I'll inquire next time I speak with him just to be certain, but shouldn't be an issue.

Congrats on the car.

Thanks Wink Actually I have been reading there a lot as well.. Haven't posted much there but I am on there also under the same alias. I'll get pic's up on both sites once it comes in! I'm a little anxious about the Ground effects kit though. Lots of people seem to have had poor installations and they're droppin off & dragging. So.. hopefully I've got pix with my front fascia still completely intact.

Well, thought I'd check in on this thread for an update....  As I mentioned back in May I placed an order for a 2010 Camaro ....   Well, it's almost august already and still no idea when the Camaro is going to be scheduled to be built even....   Getting kinda ridiculous.   The original estimate of 8 weeks'ish.... is easily goin to double that estimated time.. if not even more.

Starting to consider getting a new pick-up truck instead !    Maybe a f-150 or f-250....
hate the front end on the 09 f150's, dig the front of the f250's...   Don't really think I could justify the extra power/fuel consumption/cost of a f250 diesel over a f150 though...

Vehicle shopping has been nuts... Gone through quite a few changes of mind the past few months... Gave up on 2nd vehicle shopping for a winter ride...  Especially now, with considering an alternative to a Camaro... I may not even need one..

Lookin at either a brand new truck and one insurance...   Orrr.... toughin it out till possibly september... for a Camaro, and then havin to pick up a 2nd used vehicle for winter.

Being vehicle-less is taking it's toll on me..  Public transportation is time consuming and frustrating.

I'd probably not hesitate on gettin a truck instead if not for the fact that I've had more of an infatuation with this whole Camaro thing than with any car in the past..   If I do get a truck though, it'll end up gettin a 6" lift... bush guard, fog lights, the whole red-neck shabang. I wouldn't be content turning down a camaro for a plain jane pick-up.. It'd have to be customized.

Quite a leap coming from the original plan from a mazda3 or speed3... to a camaro.. to possibly a ford pickup.. haha.. Ah well, I don't discriminate imports/hillbilly/muscle....  I love cars/trucks period.
