This isn't a photography, but it is related, as I'm trying to design a logo to watermark my online photos. Please let me know your most brutally honest opinion of this logo. Note, there will likely be text, but I haven't figured that part out yet. Thanks!!  |

i like this one because it reminds me of those chinese stamps that artists use to sign their artwork (just the whole sig in a box thing lol). Though i'm not a fan of the text, but the idea is good.

sorry that look bad.... Is the whole idea of it bad, or just the implementation of the idea that's bad? I'm not sure if I should continue along these lines or scrap that idea path altogether and try a different idea =). For example, if I were to keep the idea (make it look like chinese characters), instead of trying to make it look like brush art, try straighter lines. Less blobby/curvey.. and a simple thin black border instead of a thick borders. The thick borders and blobby nature of it made it look very graffiti like I guess. |

The whole graffiti contrast your everyday pix (if hiphop is your picture theme, that is a different story). I find that people follow the trend of watermark too much. Being too creative has a negative effect. Many of the time it distracts the viewers from the actual picture. With that said, I prefer watermark to be simple and clean (like initials with specail fonts).
That is purely my opinion.

You're not the first to comment that it would contrast w/a lot of pictures.
I'll try something different (it's hard to think of something simple yet original enough not to look like somebody else's I've seen. =) )
Dan - That's the idea I was going with at first, the chinese wax stamp thing, but it evolved mutated into this graffiti ish thing =P

Cool.. no need to apologize Ernie =) And judging from the votes and responses so far.. you're not very far out on the limb there hah. I know I'm beating a dead horse here guys, but bear with me =P What aspects of it don't you like? The general shape? Is it cuz it's a bastardization of chinese =P Since it's not a real word? I'm asking so I don't make similar mistakes in the future. =) |

ok I will be blunt....(don't take it personally) the problem: there is no uniform of your font. There are some fat strokes and some skinny ones. The "S" is the most fucked up (excuse my language there) one. It like a 5 with an after throught at the end. When I first saw your sign, I was like WTF is Im Son? Sim-on? (I know EA makes lots of money with Sims... )....If I didn't know your name is Simon.....it will take me a while to guess. ok now get us V2....I am sure you will get a good one out.  |
