Hey guys, just traded my RX-8 for a 2005 Mazda3 a few days ago. A lot of you probably think I'm crazy for doing so, but as a student going to SFU only working part-time, the cost of insurance and gas was killing me. It was a fricken amazing car that I'm going to miss. Sad
I'm really liking the new 3 though, it's a much more practical car for me and has many of the features my 8 had like leather seats and sunroof. I'm also enjoying the tiptronic shifting which is new to me. This car has actually really surprised me in every way... Mazda really knows how to build fun cars. Tongue

I have a few pictures of it with my RX-8 at the dealership.

Your RX-8 looked great. As does your new 3. Welcome to the forums!

Welcome, I advise you not to go to Freeway Mazda for service. Head over to Wolfe Langley. Freeway has screwed over quite a few of our members (me included). I refuse to go there for anything but the free oil changes now.

How long ago did you trade? I swear I saw that RX-8 at the dealership about 3 months ago...

I just traded it in just a few days ago, and it was a 2004.

Golddragoner, I'm curious to know what Freeway Mazda did, because I have no problem driving a little further to Langley for my service.

I think almost everyone here who has experience with either one of both of those dealers would highly recommend Langley Wolfe.

Golddragoner, I'm curious to know what Freeway Mazda did, because I have no problem driving a little further to Langley for my service.

Went there for a squeek in the suspension, about 10 times going there later they finally fixed it (probably about 30 hours total). They created a Thud the first time they tried to fix it, and took them many many times to fix it. The last time I had to go back for that problem, they forgot to tighten the control arm bolt and it was falling out...though the invoice has no record of them ever loosening it, it just says they tightened it. (which in turn screwed up the alignment and they refuse to fix it without me paying for it)
Also, when I first got the car, they gave me a spoiler for half price with it and there was the first payment on them (supposed to give me a cheque). Well it took them 3 months to get the spoiler in, and the cheque took about 5 months. They said it was mailed but I never got it and it took tons of arguing with them.

Hi there, I live in Surrey and used to drive a red RX-8 as well !

Maybe I have seen you in bbw before ! ( if you actually go there )

Welcome to the forum !!! Grin

And don't go to freeway mazda for service , they suck !!!! My engine mount of the RX-8 cracked and they couldn't find a fault for my 5 visits over 2 months . I told them it must be the engine mount crack .... I visited another dealership and they swapped it out the first time I went there.

Best one I like was my warped rotors...they told me that once they are machined they are no longer covered under warranty, even though the car only has 25,000km on it and its the second time they warped.
