New Nissan GT-R Nurburgring Fire Truck, er Car! - Safety Can be Cool

When you’ve got thousands of tourists attacking the high-speed corners of your public race track each year, you’re going to have wrecks. And some will be serious. On a 20km circuit like the Nürburgring Nordschleife, getting to the a scene in a timely manner is a paramount issue for emergency crews, and something better than your average fire truck was needed.

Say hello to the Nissan GT-R Rapid Response vehicle, aka GT-R firetruck.

Although car fires are  pretty rare occurrences on the Nürburgring, paramedics still have to race to the scene of a bad wreck like on any other road, and what better than to use the GT-R that's already proven itself on fastest road in the world.

The GT-R firetruck recieves a full fire engine conversion complete with a large fire retardant tank occuying the rear passenger space and functional hose reel and equipment bay in the trunk. A full roll cage and carbon fiber Recaro racing seats go in the cabin for crew safety, white special reflective markings and emergency lights on the outside warn drivers that this car is no weekend warrior GT-R.
