it's amazing how these companies work.. Nikon announced the D3S not too long ago, and now a 1D mk4.. they compete so vigorously, it's like they know that the competition is going to launch another full frame upgrade and they do the same!

Not a single external light source was used / added.  In other words I did not use a single flashlight, LightPanel, flood light - nothing.   For one shot only I pulled out a silver reflector… just to say we did it really.  And yes it worked (see the shot of the young girl.)

I can't believe that video was shot with a DSLR. Unreal.

I think the Stanford University's open source camera, the Frankencamera looks interesting.

1ds mk4 ISO test

3200

6400

12800

25600

51200

102400

this is a bad comparison since it seems the nikon picture was taken in a brighter environment.

but god damn, that 102400 ISO looks like my camera at 3200!
since this is canon's answer to the nikon d3s, i wonder why they didn't opt for a full frame sensor but kept a 1.3x crop sensor?  Otherwise it seems to be better than the d3s in quite a few ways.

Cuz maybe they'll release a 1Ds version of it Wink
