after having my ranger for 5 months, i hate it. not to say all fords are equal across the board. but it been in and had 3 window motors replaced, torsion bar and cv boot. and it only has 11K on it. plus the interior finish is lack luster at best.

The Ranger isn't exactly a great way to define Ford as a brand. Much like the Mazda B-Series is not a great way to define Mazda Wink

It's a dated design.

Accord....

yes they had come a long way but the on-going use of 4 spoke steer wheel = dated. That is purely my opinion, you don't have to agree. Wink

Comparing the Ranger to the Fusion or any other Ford product is not a fair comparison.  The Ranger, aside from newer sheetmetal, is unchanged from when it came out in the mid 1990's.  It's a 15 to 20 year old design and as a result, it is a very low cost truck to buy.  Let's compare a Ranger to a mid 1990's Taurus or Escort but not a Fusion or new Taurus.

According to Ford, the basic design of the Ranger has not changed at all in 25 years -- since the mid 80s. The design's just been tweaked over time to make it a bit more modern but is otherwise the same truck. When the F-100 finally gets released, there'll sadly be no more compact pickup trucks whatsoever. Perhaps the demand is just not there anymore, but a lot of pre-04 Toyota Tacoma owners swear by their compact pickups.

Even more of a reason why the Ranger can't be compared to a car launched 3 years ago.
