I have mixed feelings about this one. It's too big to be a MINI but still too small for most families (only seats four, doesn't look like there's much cargo room either). Handling may not be that great is compared to the Cooper, but at least it comes standard with manual transmission. This can either be a "they're geniuses!" car or "why did they even bother?!" car.
After renting a MINI through Zip Car, my conclusion was that it was fun to drive but the interior although cool looking is crap. Can't tell what the buttons are, things felt flimsy, if I wanted a uber fun to drive and impractical car I would get an MX-5 instead, at least I can tell which button switches FM/AM and which knobs does the HVAC functions.

I think more like the BMW X1 which is apparently coming soon. It'll be even smaller than the X3.

"The Mini Cooper has been a hit for parent company BMW, but there are still a lot of potential customers out there who can't quite fit their families into a tiny subcompact."
That sounds so silly. That's what a Mini is -- a small car...
Personally, I think Mini should just stick to making the Mini. No clubmans (or whatever they are called) and no SUVs

+1 It defeats the purpose of being "mini" if I recall. XD

That Countryman looks like it's just a raised Clubman which just makes it look weird in my opinion.

Awesome! Don't think the bed in the back is big enough to hold a motorcycle though, otherwise I might just pick one up Misti
