Mazda has begun taking orders in Japan for the redesigned Mazda Premacy. The Canadian version is scheduled to begin arriving at dealers in 2011.

It looks pretty good in Copper Red, but then again ... so does everything.  Smiley

The price dropped by 42,000 yen ($450?) too to 1,799,000 yen. I like. The 2.0 with i-Stop technology (1,999,000 yen, not sure if it'll make it to NA) is supposed to be as fuel efficient as a Corolla.

The Copper Red Mica looks great in pics but looks a bit dull in real life, plus you can only get the sand interior with it. Sad

Hmmm...what's the six plus one concept? Is that a sliding seat that can be moved to any row?

I dunno about the curves on the body though...

There's a 7th seat that folds out between the two seats in the middle row.

They have been unable to get it certified in Canada or the USA, however.  It's been on the Japanese Premacy/5 since '06.

yeah Mazda5 in HK is 7 seater.

like I said in the other redesigned mazda5, I don't like the lines on the side and lost the mean looking front end.....I'd take the 1st gen over this new gen anyday!

I can handle them changing the front, obviously adding the smile to get it in line with the rest of Mazda's product line.  I also don't mind the lines on the side, I think they will end up blending nicely like the new 3's do, but the back is just horrible IMO.

I'd be surprised if Mazda can't get it certified this time around, seeing how Toyota has a removable 7th seat in the Highlander and removable 8th seat in the Sienna.

I'll take a new 5 for the 2.5L engine and 6 speed MT.
