The current model costs more unlocked than our N1 lol. But it's nice that Apple is offering unlocked phones to us. Hope other manufacturers do this in Canada. I checked Motorola and Samsung but didn't find anything. Guess we'll need to buy from the carriers and unlock it ourselves.

^ SE, Nokia and BlackBerry does sell OEM unlocked phone if you purchase from them directly.
The only phone I actually excited about is BlackBerry 9800.

obviously not official so take it for what it's worth.. but chances are, it's true lol. I'd like to believe it was true but I doubt it. If so, Jobs would've mentioned it in the conference. Still, it's interesting or maybe just a coincidence on how people who have returned their problematic 4 no longer have the antenna issue. I'm only interested in Android phones

I thought I read somewhere there weren't going to be any pre-orders in Canada. How is you Dad getting it?
Side note Apple continues to make videos showing other phones having reception issues. I find it rather annoying, They made a faulty product just deal with it and stop acting like a little baby and trying to point the finger at others.

Apple are really just putting the last nails in the coffin with all these videos lol I tried the death grip with someone's blackberry nothing happened... It's really pointing fingers at someone else rather than recognizing their own problem, it's a very risky route a company takes. My perception of them is definately not the same as it was before.
After all I have to wait even longer for the white version of 4 anyway, forget it I think I will stick with whatever I have now!

Yeah I agree. My perception of Apple has also changed as a result of those videos. I was going to get my wife the iPhone 4 but I'm really thinking FU Apple and getting her the HTC Desire.

I was going to get this iPhone... but after all the complications from Apple, I don't think I'll jump on this on quite yet. Looking forward/hoping that the HTC Evo comes to Canada.

My wife is waiting for a blackberry style Android device to dump her Curve 8330. She wants a hardware keyboard but not the landscape variety because it's too wide for her hands. I've seen the Motorola Charm but I'm sure more models will be out this year.
I'm surprised that Apple is going down this path with the videos but they will do anything now to keep sales going. I'm sure there will be fanboys who don't care about this and will continue to buy it. But so far, all the people I know who own iPhones, have no interest in upgrading.

Free case program is only availabe till September 30 so there must be a strong reason why, either a newer version of the phone or at least a better fix and that's why I am holding on...
