Hey

I was just curious on a hotel there. We are coming over in September (middle of the month) and it will be 7 (4 adults and 3 fairly young children) of us so we were thinking of getting a room at the red lion as we want a bedroom and kitchen so we can cook and not eat out. We also want them to go to bed at a decent time since they are all under 4 and us be in a separate room so we can still play games or whatever. We figure about $100 a night for this hotel.
Would you guys suggest this as a decent hotel or would you suggest somewhere else. Keep in mind we are looking for somewhere with a kitchen and separate room for the children so we can stay up longer without disturbing them. We also need it to cost about the same price a night. Our travel dates are September 17th to 20th.
I look forward to your comments and suggestions.

Hey Adam

Red Lion is a great choice. For all your needs and at your price range, I think your best bet would be to stay at Red Lion. It's only about 5 minutes (driving of course) away from central downtown which is pretty neat. Since you're cooking at the hotel, there are tons of grocery shopping options around that area such as the new super-sized Walmart (Biggest in North Amer).
One thing to keep in mind is on the same lot there is a strip club. It won't effect your stay though because I haven't heard any complaints about that area before. I'll see if I can find more options for you when I get a chance Cheesy

thanks...that's what we decided on.
How long is the drive from the ferry terminal to this hotel? We will be renting minivan.
With this hotel being so close to town does that mean it is close to the bug zoo, miniature world, royal BC museum, shaw ocean discovery center, wax museum, butterfly gardens, BC forest discovery center, and beacon hill children's farm?
Do you know of any way to get discounts on any of these places (ie coupons, etc)
Look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks again for all your help. Cheesy

Sorry I took so long to reply!

It's about a 30min drive from the terminal to the hotel. You are about 10min away from your destinations not including Shaw Ocean Center, Butterfly Garden, and BC forest discovery center. The butterfly garden is about 2/3 way from the hotel to the ferries and the rest is not in Victoria city. Shaw Ocean Center is actually in Sidney which is about 3 minutes from the ferry terminal! Hope you have a good time and if you have anymore questions feel free to ask! I'll try to find you some discounts Cheesy
