There is no equivalent Prius with just a gas engine, so you can't compare. I just see it as being a tough sell when you can get a regular gas engined Civic for almost half the price. If they offered the Fit with a hybrid.... I'll bet they'll sell those.

Prius and Civic Hybrid is almost identical in terms of class, electric/gas combined power, 4 door, seat 5, etc. So you think naming the Civic Hybrid different will aid the sales? Fit starts at $14480....If it is a hybird, where you think the price point will be? 25-26K.....we are back to square 1.

the crz is fun.... But still hardly worth the dough imo. We looked at one before we bought the mz3.... When driven nice the 3 gets similar fuel economy while offering all the comforts of a 5 door wagoon.

I think you get more technology bang for the buck with the Prius over the Civic Hybrid, plus over 20% better gas mileage. The Camry Hybrid I see everywhere too.
The Insight is just so economy class for $23k. The CR-Z offers no fuel economy advantages for the power it produces, and has a not so good power to weight ratio to boot.
Just more icebergs against the Honda failboat. I'd put my money on Toyota for at least planning on bringing the FT-86.

I agree... I say Honda need to stop and re-evaluate their car business. Realize that they've totally fucked up the Civic brand (going from small compact cars to now being bigger than the Accord of the day). Every vehicle has gotten bigger and no weight reduction in sight. I mean the Rav4 is huge compared to the original. The Fit is their smallest vehicle and it's still bigger than the 5th and 6th gen Civics Hatches.
I dunno.. I just don't like a single one of Honda's vehicles right now (motorcycle and scooters aside).

The CR-V doesn't seem like it's grown much since the 1st gen, agree about the RAV4 though.
