Oh ya the Serenia. It was good back then. Reminds me of the Tesla S concept. I wish it was easy to change the smile but it's grown on me. Overall the 3 is such a nice car that the smile doesn't bother me.

Nice. Still see some of the Furai lines (which I like) in this new one. Although the Furai was a concept for a different category.
As for the smile on the 3, it isn't too bad. Love it or hate it maybe? Think it depends on how you see it. Well there are a lot of vehicles out there with that mouth. Almost all the cars of Puegeot have them and those have bigger grins than the 3. Also people didn't notice the Miata / Mx5 sporting that smile too before the 3 even came out. Maybe because there aren't a lot of them on the road?

Why wouldn't they? DOT only covers light beam pattern and output. Maybe they used projectors without shrouds?

Damn, that blue things looks incredible. It's like a normal Mazda when on roids and now has anger issues.  I laughed when you guys referred to the stupid grille on the 2010 Mazda 3 as "the smile". No offence to anyone who likes and owns the new version (as it's completely subjective), but I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that goofy jackolatern grilles. What was Mazda thinking when they did that? |

I think it's worse on the Miata than the 3, it's more pronounced. Maybe with a long ass European plate in the front would help though!  |
