No surprise I guess, I think we all knew it would still get passed.

Being green is not a bad idea. But at the expense of other motorist and property owners is not the right way. You want to bike, get a licence and share the cost. We have toll bridges, why not a for cyclists? Also only if Police enforce MVA/MVR on cyclists. Every Mayor for CoV must do some stupid shit while in the office. Roll Eyes

The interesting thing is that the cost of this is the same that is being taken out of the budget for the fire fighters and police. I've spoken to many bicyclists and they don't agree with the process that Vancouver is taking. It's good to think that not all of them agree.

You must be thinking Choice Fast Food - cheap on Wednesdays Wink

You guys know that the parking is only being eliminated on the side of the street that has very few businesses, right? My office is on Howe, backing onto Hornby right at Nelson so I'm in this area all the time. I don't see this as being a huge deal. There's always free parking on that side of the street, so it likely won't affect people too much.

Oh for sure I'm all for this change, I want to cycle more as well and the more cycling facilities the better. The only business I'm truly worried about is the Wedgewood Hotel which could lose its loading/unloading area if the bike lane ends up on the west side of the street.

The Dunsmuir bike lanes were pretty well executed I think, that third curb lane was useless anyway as it was always being blocked by dwelling buses which obviously can't dwell there anymore. Montreal has a lot of these streetside bike lanes and when I was there, I rented a bike and rode everywhere around where I was staying.

And yes Choice Fast Food! Such an odd name for a butter chicken place but oh well. Smiley They have huge samosas for cheap too. I should aim to go on Wednesdays, I always go on random days.
