I too would be down like Friday.

Well tonight's game can be best summarized as "That was a good learning experience".

I can rent ice time, any preferences on time, location, and price? Within reason, don't expect $10/person 3pm Sunday at Burnaby 8 Rinks though. lol.

8 rinks would be great!! (3 mins from my house)....but I'm able to play anywhere!

Late night would be good...like 10pm+. I've found those are the times that are cheap/cheaper. Richmond Ice Centre is fairly inexpensive i believe.

Example only - Burnaby 8 Rinks, Saturday May 28 11:15pm - 12:30am, $222.60 + HST. Ideally we have 20 players come out so we have 10 on 10 off, that's $12.50 a person. If everyone can bring a few buddies along depending on how many we need that would be great.

They have a Monday at 7pm for about the same price.

Friday night, I subbed in for an absent goalie for a Div A co-ed team with a 50/50 split between women and men players, played against a team of all women except their sub in male goalie. I didn't expect anything less than an awesome game and an awesome game it was, girls on both sides were hard hitting (guys not allowed to hit girls, so it was their advantage), aggressive forechecking, I never had to fight so hard to find the puck past screens in my career. We were up 3-1 until I was beat by a mind baffling backhand to forehand move where she just drove across the net on a breakaway, I slid across just as quick and all of a she sudden twisted the puck on her forehand Ovechkin style and BAM over my blocker it was crazy and then they tied it up on a screen shot to my high blocker side. A well deserving... tie. lol.

Anyone know how the prices are at the Hockey Shop in Surrey ?

I'm planning to pick up a new pair of inline skates, but don't want to deal with HockeyMonkey if there isn't a big difference in price...

Danny, if you're looking for inline skates...i would still recommend you get them at Hockey Monkey rather than the Hockey Shop. I find their prices are pretty steep. Especially on higher end gear.

They actually have a roller page...here's the page, you can compare with hockey monkey. Try www.inlinewarehouse.com as well.

Thanks, Marco

How long does it usually take for delivery?

I guess I can go to the Hockey Shop and try the skates on, then order online...

I prefer Cyclone Taylor Sports... but I don't think prices will vary too much from store to store.

Anything Ice Hockey related I always check Don Simmonds back east. Great prices especially on goalie gear.

Danny, yes you can definitely always try on sizing then buy online. I do that fairly often...lol

The hockey shop does take $xx amount off if you say it's cheaper online or whatever...buy you then still need to pay canadian taxes!!!
As for shipping from hockeymonkey/inlinewarehouse/hockeygiant....since they're all based in california, shipping is fairly quick if you ship within states (they all offer free shipping on orders over $99 or $150). I normally ship to Blaine, then pick it up...declare my items...sometimes i get taxed, sometimes i dont. I came back with a pair of x:60 skates last year, declared full value $350 USD and didn't get taxed.

I go to hockey shop just to see the latest and greatest, try them out like the sticks there's a shooting gallery in the basement, but then I buy it somewhere else like sportcheck.  My last 3 pairs of roller hockey skates were from sportmart though.
