The Kitaco variator increased my acceleration and top speed when paired with 6g roller weights. I'm going to try out the KN variator sometime because it is supposed to improve acceleration and maintain uphill speed better. Mostly riding around the city, I'd like some more off the line acceleration so c-lais don't run me over.
Oil change is simple. All you need is some oil, funnel and a 14mm wrench. There are youtube videos on it. My advice is to find a container to drain into and another to fill with 600ml to refill with.
KN sounds right up my alley for what I want out of the Ruck! I guess I'll hafta look into it. Be sure to post up a review if you throw it on So much for today's weather. By the time I got done all my errands & everything it was pouring out.

Yah I never found my BWs to be too slow on the flats, just up a hill. Although I sure could've used the extra speed when I rode to Harrison lol.
Going down Royal Oak hill I would always hit at least 80, I think 85 was the fastest (my speedometer went to 100), but 35-40 up the hill is a bit too slow...

Doesn't it wear the rollers quicker riding up hill all the time?

Need a new rear shock on this Ruck asap... stock shock really is brutal. Glad we saw some good weather today though, got some riding in finally. This things mad fun. Challenge to find the ideal parking spots though.. I'm not quite ready to give up locking it.. Everyone out here is a thief and drives a pickup truck.. LoL.
I never noticed how many strange places motorcycles/scooters park... I am noticing a lot of questionable parking jobs now that I am actually on the look out for good spots to park mine.
Derrick you've got a lowered seat frame yeah? How's that impact your posture riding? With my back issues postures gonna be a major factor in my seat setup. Just wondering if that's going to create more/less hunch.. I imagine it is partially dependant also on rider height too.

I usually only ride to ride, so my Ruckus doesn't sit parked very long.
Yes, I have a lowered seat frame. It is a lot more comfortable and you sit more upright with the stock handlebars. But I've changed my handlebars, so I now hunch quite a bit.

Yeah parking is such a question of mine. I think it sucks I can't use a bike rack to park mine.

Ahh.. handle bars was another thing I wanted to change out... meh Probably lower the seat first anyways. I want to plant the feet down better instead of doing the lean @ lights or sitting at the edge of the seat to tip toe.
As for parking... Guys at school with sport bikes/scooters are using the triangle area just past the first parking meter by the bike racks. Noticed in Vancouver a lot of ppl use bike racks on the sidewalk for scooters.... Also thought this wasn't allowed... I have been paying @ meters or snagging parking spots next to poles/meters that i can lock up to. Playing it safe cuz I really have no idea what is allowed and what will get me ticketed. I've also seen people park on the sidewalk side of occupied meters and lock up to the meters...
Wish there was more scooter/motorcycle only parking.

I'd definitely recommend the lower seat frame as it is much more comfortable to sit on at a light. Can easily flat foot it now.

I think they are all the same. I bought mine from Jiang Wayne, local shop in Richmond. Goes on sale for $60 occasionally.

Ah I knew of the shop but haven't checked out what they have since I got my Ruck. 60 bucks , thats not too bad. I gotta find a nice seat cover too.
Why is it that Jiang Wayne seems to be a touchy subject on the TR forum?

JW is like the DX of Ruckus; it's cheap, but be prepared to wait for it to ship. And Engrish not gooderest. But the girl who works at the shop is very nice. If you butter her up she might not charge you the conversion from USD to CAD.
