My SD600 point and shoot camera seems to have gone awry. There are 3 options essentially - camera, video, play/view pic mode. THe problem is that when i move the switch to go from one to another, there's like a glitch and i don't go to whatever i chose. Most of the time, I want camera mode but it will go to video mode even though i've moved the switch to camera. and it's laggy as well. if i move to say view pic mode from camera mode, it might take 2-3 seconds for it to realize and switch over. i'm guessing there's some sort of fuse shortage or something in there.

and say i get into camera mode, 10 seconds later (still in camera mode), it'll automatically switch to video mode. it's pissing me off...camera is at least 4 years old i think.

That is a common issue. Those camera are so compact now the contact points between the modes are so close together and after years of moving, there will be wear on the contacts thus made it problematic. IMO, not worth fixing with the cost of camera being so cheap.

Get over it. I paid $800 for my Canon Powershot S30 back in 2001.

You can try disassemble your camera and clean those contact points (or order replacement parts). But since it is not a simple electronic, the chance of not able to reassemble back together is high. Tongue
