Hey guys,

Well my good friends are in a band called No Other Way and they are looking to depart on a cross Canada tour.
They had to get a new tour van and they lucked out and got their hands on a seriously sweet 1989 Chevy G20 Van from California for cheap.
Now as they go and get it inspected and plated here they came across some stuff that needs to be fixed first (obviously).

The immediate being a power steering pump which is leaking, then the exhaust will need to be either replaced or weld repaired.
Finally some of the smaller things like the passenger power window actuator is broken and the footbrake assembly isn't going in all the way.. apparently the teeth are worn out on it.

So here's my questions, anyone know where I can download something like the Hayes Manual or even the Chevy Shop Manual for this van?
I'm gonna help them with the window and footbrake so a trip to Mitchell Island here we come.

As for the power steering: Where is a good cheap parts reseller in this city? I want to compare that with a used one.
Anyone know a good honest cheap place to have the work done? A good mom and pop shop if possible?
Or does anyone know how to do this?

As for the muffler what's a good cheap muffler shop they could use to weld this up or do a patch job?

All help appreciated... oh and here's the band's MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/nootherway

A great cheap muffler shop is Muffler Man in Burnaby near the New West border. Address is 7590 Kingsway. Had a good experience with them.

Oh and many local libraries carry Haynes manuals.

Here is a search through Vancouver Public Library Link. I was too lazy to find the specific one.

I second the recommendation for Muffler Man.

If you look hard enough, there are Mitchell On Demand torrent to download. It should cover the ins and outs of the van.

That's through the library, if it doesn't work you may just have to log on to your library account. There's TONS of resources online through your library Smiley

Problem is you'll spend days downloading it, and if you're only looking for 1 or 2 cars its not really worth the 100GB download...I mean I do have the program and its awesome, just not really feasible to get if you only need it for one or two cars because of the size of it (I think its something like 15 dual layer DVD's)

He works IT, so storage and internet shouldn't be a problem for him. The big plus side is once he downloas it, he has all the resource to work on most of the cars in the market.

I think to actually use the program it either has to be on a USB Hard Drive or DVD's (not sure about the hard drive one).

Yeah I wouldn't be worried about getting it.. I have access to a 30 Mbps fiber internet connection and pretty much any amount of storage space I want...LOL
That aside, even if it's DVD only.. I can always ISO it and then use ISO mount virtual CD (like Alcohol 120%)
