I know it was discussed in a previous thread http://www.bcmazda3.com/forum/index.php/topic,11190.msg466377.html#new ,but didn't want to revive an old thread to discuss it.

For those using it ,do you place your phone on your dash ,keep it in your pocket or on your seat beside you? I've been using it for several days (since Mon. ) to map the mid Island (Nanaimo to Qualicum ) ,but either Telus has lousy coverage ,or I'm doing something wrong ?

Sorry I can't answer your question, but I prefer the app sensorly. Seems to have better maps than coverage mapper.

So where do you have your Phone located ?

I took a look at Sensorly, but it seemed to either by yellow or nothing ? may play with it some after I've logged the heck out of the area with Coverage Mapper.

I usually have the phone in my hand since I'm usually on the bus or skytrain. I should matter if its in your pocket, unless your pants are lead lined or something! Lol

Yeah I think alot of the maps are blank since they haven't been mapped. The yellow means 3G.

Coverage Mapper works very well for me.
Remember, you can not turn off your screen.

Coverage mapper will dim your screen, so don't worry too much about battery usage.

Also, make sure you're uploading your data.

I read about the screen being on/dimmed ,so I knew my battery would suffer.I've done some more driving and there is the same signal loss reflected in the newer data .Checked the cellsite info (also in the other thread) and the loss of signal correlates to celltower placement ,so it's not me.

Also, make sure you're uploading your data.

I'm definitely uploading the Data ,most of the data for Qualicum south to Nanaimo is mine  Hide

P.S.  I also went to the Coverage Mapper forum to see how long it took the uploaded data to show Wink
