My prayers go to them.

God bless and keep them safe. I just pray that loss of life is at a minimum buildings can be rebuilt, what a tragedy, just dont know what to say. I guess all we can do is donate when the Red cross appeals for help....

much love japan... dont worry, we wont get hit by the same earthquake/tsunami, we are way to far away... but we will most likely get hit by another not too long from now!

2 foot high tsunami waves hit Vancouver Island this morning. Nothing devestating.
I spoke to some of my friends, they're all ok, just worried because rail and air service is disrupted so some of them can't go see their families at the moment.

Last night was surreal. Crazy intense hockey game. I haven't seen a game like that in ages. Total end to end playoff atmosphere.
And then the earthquake hits. And watching the water envelop the farmland live ... like I was watching a movie. I felt such a big adrenalin rush that I couldn't sleep until 3am.
Woke up feeling like... did that really happen?

I dunno if it's happening more often or if it's the media. We could also be in an age of unsettled tectonic plate movement. Lots of photos here: http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2011/03/massive_earthquake_hits_japan.htmlAmazing how perfectly this road caved in.

If anyone can handle this its the great folks in Japan. I worked there for a while and people always keep earthquakes in a little part of their brains. Like everyone keeps cash on hand in case the ATM'S go down. I have friends in Tokyo and I just pray they are safe, its really just terrible, I cant get my head around that destruction. all the beautiful farmland, ruined, salt water, debris. I just cant atop watching the TV, i feel terrible..
