Thanks to everyone for their posts and comments.

For sure, we pay for what we get and I wish I have more time to spend with the TV. Don't get me wrong, whenever I do spend the time on TV I do enjoy it! Just can't justify cost/benefit of my plan now.

PM's replied to Winston and ringflyer, cheers!

Anybody else on this forum who has a good deal on tv/internet? We wouldn't mind hearing from you - lets all reap the benefits. Thanks.

telus - $45 a month for tv internet and home phone. added almost all the HD channels except for HBO, Moviecentral etc...

I now have 3 receivers and it came too $65 a month for the first year, and $85 onwards. signed a 2 year to get a free xbox as well that i can use as a fourth reciever if needed.

^ retention plan? or you brought the recievers? as rentals are for 3yr term on TV. 2yr adsl will get you Xobox.

but if people plan to commit for a long term, Telus has the best deal now.

I can't decide, so used to OTA now and free HD though miss out on sports unless it's on CBC (hockey) or CTV (football). I'm thinking of Telus but is Shaw coming out with anything to compete with the new tech from Telus? Never liked the menu in the boxes and I hear the Motorola boxes are better than the Pace, more reliable. True?

motorola's are more reliable and less "glitchy" than the Pace boxes. YES, the Motorolas have their known issues here and there, but they're consistently the same issues with people, if they get them at all - ANYONE who's ever done tech support would agree that's better than the random issues that have always come up with Pace boxes. Pace was all other the place with issues. Mind you, I haven't done tech support in 3 years, but I still hear a lot of griping from my friends still doing it.

Ringflyer:  Do you know if there are any firmware updates to the interface system coming down the pipe?

My Motorola box has been pretty reliable, but the interface is complete garbage compared to the competitors' boxes (Bell, Telus).
It looks like it's running on a 286 from 1985 with 16 Color EGA graphics.

they're working on a better looking guide, not sure of an ETA, but every meeting we're told it's coming, when we suggest a better interface for the UGLY guide Smiley

Got a mailer today for Shaw Extreme Internet and TV for $36/month for six months with Free HDPVR. After 6months regular monthly rate is $86. In small print it stated must keep service for 3 year term to get PVR for free.

I'm on shaw and currently pay $165.75 /mo + tax for Digital TV, Extreme Internet, HD Plus, one digital chanel (2.95) and two phone lines with VM and  call waiting.  No rental equipment.  I'd agree it's way over priced.

That's pretty good with the free hd pvr. I pay 50 so thing for extreme by itself.

How many terminals are u getting for that price?  On redflags they have a deal back east that is exactly like what was posted but they do indicate two hd terminals.

It never mentioned a second terminal. but in the small print it said includes 2 digital outlets? I think it refer's to 2 cable jacks.
