I prefer console gaming. One purchase price and you are good, techonology wise, for at least 5 years. PC gaming you constantly have to be upgrading if you want to run all of your games at the highest settings.

Part of my BF's issue (which i don't particularly agree with) is that he says console gaming is "dumbed down" and "button mashing".

He also played UT professionally for 3 years, so he's kind of biased in that respect.

Yea. I still enjoy Unreal Tournament 2004 with a keyboard and mouse but it doesn't make financial sense, if my XBox 360 bites the dust out of warranty I'll just buy another for $299. That's the price of a good CPU or video card. Maybe if I was more hardcore into say COD which would be better on a PC but I'm so casual I die like 20 times a minute trying to play online.

Crazy the XBox 360 is almost six years old and still very capable.

I can't wait for Diablo 3 to come out.  I like the flexibility of being able to play most things on PC's over consoles and I agree with missmiel's bf in that console games seem "limiting"

Either way I have both PS3 and Xbox as well as a gaming PC so I guess the point is moot.

I find that when you're young you got tonnes of time for games but don't have the money to have cool shit.

When you're older you've got the cool shit but no time to play with them.... lol

^

Hard to say...  I find that when I was younger I made more and got more out of the games and systems I had than I do now so in that sense it was nice.

Now I get the satisfaction of impulse buys but the subsequent "tsk tsk" from my g/f, parents etc...

I stopped buying a lot of titles I used to follow in the last few years b/c I stopped finishing the games.  I'd buy, see the opening cinematic, turn it off after half hr of game play and then pick it up later only to complain that its either no fun or that I can't remember what I was working on before in the game... lol.  No continuity since my time to play is so sporadic.  I think the other thing too is that you have too many choices and it fractures your "quality" time spent with each game.

I guess instead of playing vid games I can always troll around our forum though Wink

I rent games. The only game I know I'll get my money's worth out of is NHL xx so that's the only game I will buy. I rented MW2 for a week and I was happy. Beat the game in three days and got my @$$ pwned online in the final four.
