hey,
i would like to know if any of u have a t3i and how the experience has been. i am thinking of ordering one online as i found a pretty killer deal. $1095 will get me the body with the 18-55mm lens + 55-250mm lens + UV filter + bag + and a 16GB Duracell memory card. what do u think of this bundle??
i watched many reviews and they all said it was good but i kind of wanna hear it from real owners.
Thanks

My sis has the T2i great camera but I am impartial to my Sony Alpha A33. Smiley

Price seems ok, nothing outstanding but not bad.

Only reason to get a T3i would be for DSLR Video especially with the 5x/10x digital zoom in full HD and swivel screen.

If Photos are your priority I would get a Nikon D5100 instead which is in the same price range. you'll get superior image quality especially in high ISO. Nikon noise looks like film grain. Canon noise is straight digital noise that nobody likes.

Both cameras will get you great images, it usually comes down to what's comfortable in your hands. I find the lower end Nikons and Rebel series to be small and I prefer a bigger DSLR.

I'm debating between 60D and D7000.

Sony Alpha A series with the Semi Translucent Mirror technology is superior for video because of continuous seamless autofocussing. Nikons and Canons take slightly better photos though in the same price range, but I still love my Sony.

A test video I took on my Sony Alpha A33 using a Minolta 50mm lens I was buying from someone:

A33 has faster focus.

I actually like the Sony system, it's just that their lenses are limited IMO.

But their 24-70 is fucking amazing.
I mean, fucking amazingly sharp.

I'd consider the Alpha series, they're a good price and they're the same sensors as some of the Nikon cameras.

In all honesty the intro to lower-mid level photography equipment, they're all roughly the same in terms of capturing image.  However each one has their benefits and disadvantages.

i looked at the sony yesterday too.. i didnt like it very much. it was waay too small for my hands and loud. the focusing and shutters are too loud. still leaning towards the t3i. will most likely be picking a camera up at the end of this month!

I never liked the quality of Sony pictures compared to Nikon. Darian is selling his D40 if you're interested.

I agree with the limited number of lenses... the 24-70 is a Carl Zeiss priced at $1,800 though eh. lol. I think it'll be a few years before I get a better lens. They have a 16-50 f/2.8 lens for about $900.

It's different. I'm impressed with the quality of my sister's T2i but Sony adds a bit of warmth to images I quite enjoy. However I'd love to upgrade to the A77 body.

The A77 body is almost an inch taller and wider, though with a heftier price tag. But I am planning on getting a battery grip for my A33 in the next few months.
