Hey guys

it's my first time using EBAY to sell my i7 since there are no local interest, i just wanna know how the shipping thing works. So do I include the shipping cost in the price I'm selling for or I can make it extra and let the buyer pay for the shipping cost?

Thanks

wouldnt shipping cost depend on where you're shipping it to? i mean shipping to somewhere in the US would probably be more expensive than shipping to somewhere in canada

False. Shipping to Canada is more expensive for some odd reason.

my understanding on ebay is that their fees are based on the sale price, which excludes shipping.

So from that angle, it's best to not include shipping in your price.

^ That's why sometimes you see people post an item for $1 whereas shipping is $20 so they don't have to pay as much to Ebay.

You could definitely put a flat rate, seeing as you're unfamiliar with the postal rates.  You have to be cautious and charge extra because if the amount posted is under the actual cost, it would cost you money.  If it costs less to ship than your posted amount, then you've made the difference!

Things to put to cover your ass is:

- What you see is what you get
- All Sales Final, no returns
- mention that unit may be dead or alive (unless you've personally tested it and can somehow guarantee it)

I suggest you deal only within Canada and the states.  That means post your item for sale only within Canada and united states.  Trust me, you don't wanna go through all the hassle when issues come up dealing with international countires.
Also use paypal as a way to receive funds as they can help you resolve any issue that might come up between buyers and sellers.  But like what unlce T said, it will cost you fee for listing the item and again once it's sold.  Ebay does not take fee for the shipping charge, only to the item that is sold/auctioned.

I agree, just US and Can. I have shipped lots of stuff I sold on Ebay. I usually put Shipping to be dtermined" Never had a problem, then I take the item to postal outlet, get it measured and then tell the buyer shipping costs. I find that size REALLy determines postage sometimes more than weight.
