Can't believe it's been 10 years. I recall when this bike came out how different it was from any other Harley and many people wanted one. The only V-Rod I have is a black model on my desk!

Bought mine new in 2003.
It's been a good bike.  No issues at all.  Not every Harley can say that!
It's for sale now though, in case you possibly missed the Accent/Ducati thread.   LOL.

Actually that pic in the first post is a bit misleading.
This is actually the 10th anniversary model.

Prefer my Fatboy

That's code for "prefer to never go over 120 km/hr."
Cheesy

Just j/king with you man.
I've been riding shovelhead's and evo's for years.
This old shovel sounds like the baddest bike on the planet.
It's working real hard cruising at 120 km/hr and can barely get around a corner.    Cheesy

A few years ago when I was coming home the older neighbour lady across the street waved me down and I thought "I'm going to hear it now!"
Instead she told me she loved how it sounded and asked me if it was powerful.
I told her "oh yeah it is."   Didn't want to destroy her illusions and tell her the kid on the Kawasaki 500 down the street would blow me away.   Cool Grin

oooooooh, burn.  Shocked

I don't know your background but that reminds me of a guy at Duke's Pub earlier this year who said something similar to me when I stopped in with the vrod.
Now bear in mind I've owned various shovel's and evo's going back to 1979 and have probably ridden over 200,000 miles on bikes, mostly HD,  in my life.
I asked this guy which bike was his.  He points out a 2009 Road King.  Turns out he just bought it last summer and it's his first Harley ever!
Bwahahaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaa and he's trying to give me shit about a vrod?

Dkaz, show some respect young fella else I'll swat you with a wet Depends lol!!!!! Yup, horses for courses, my ex neighbors son used to race crotch rockets until he came off at 160 at the track. He got an award for "the most impressive non ambulance attended crash", thats true. He let me ride his Nitrous equipped bike and I took it out up the hwy to Hope. 280kms an hour and rode like my 65 Ariel 400 single cylinder I learned to ride on back in the 60's in England. Unfortunately, at that speed coming off is a bit of an issue. I realized how fast I was going and S L O W L Y throttled back, what a RUSH. but you know what? My Fatboy is harder to handle at 12ok than that crotch rocket was at 280km, tire tech, brakes, suspension, you name it, all designed to go fast. This guy now has a bike shop but rides a little more conservatively now he has a family. I wish I had all the bikes I had as a kid. #1 was BSA 125cc, back in England, the biggest bike you could learn on was a 250, The 125's were ex Post Office courier bikes, real cheap, then I got the Ariel, then a BSA 650cc, a Norton, the Ducatti, which I wrote off in  crash, then I turned into a "mod", bought a scooter, a Lambretta 250, gtx I think was the model, then I got a Vespa scooter, then another Norton. Came to Canada then got into Harleys, had a knucklehead [wish I still had that puppy] then a shit AMF piece of crap, now the Fatboy. If I had all the cars and bikes I had ever owned I would be a millionaire. Anyway, gotta go take my Geritol and get a diaper change lol!!!!
