Very good price for such a clean car. Glaring issue, having to rebuild the engine every ~100k? Which I heard is not too difficult.

IMO there's not much I would do to that car other than getting period correct mags, so I could still get collector plates and cheap insurance for it.
Nothing about it says "project" to me because it's in such great, original condition - I wouldn't want to mess with it.
Since it looks like a GS, it's probably a 4x110 bolt pattern which is really hard to find.

it looks near mint for an 81. but im always a bit skeptical. i bought an 86 prelude once in minty condition with 40K back in 99 and the engine and tranny blew at 60K, so i think they rolled the odo. atleast i know that this one has a fresh rebuild.

Whether rebuilt or not - an 81 is going to be quite a bit of work people don't see on a newer car. Every body seal, rubber bushing and belt will be rotten if not replaced. I have an 86 951 as a project and although I fully rebuilt a 91 Ford Escort GT turbo, I got a little too used to the newer cars. Old cars are fun but require lots of time, patience, and money.

Dunno how reliable the motor is, since IIRC the B20b motor never came with Vtec.
Looks nice though, I love 2nd get Tegs.

after some research. its looks like he did a rebuild of his b17 with a b20 block. which seems to be common with this gen. mine was just the b17vtec which was still awesome. ill email to confirm.
