CSR aren't what they use to be anymore. It's hard to get discounts these days with rentention.

I was thinking of going to rogers from telus, but that kind of scares me away, im not getting to screwed by telus, just looking for a better shared plan with more bang for the $150 a month we spend. But I only have 6 years with telus.

Well my things is how many others have fallen victim to this scam of 'We'll give you this awesome plan but then unbeknownst to you, take it away after a year, as long as we have your business' and then when ppl complain, they get scared away with the whole 'oh you'll have to pay $$$ to break your contract then' when in fact Roger's was the first to break the contract by lying!

Thanks for sharing and the heads up.  gf is thinking of switching over to Rogers too.  Will have to make sure that it is written on paper/contract that the rates and discounts will be applicable for the full 3 year term and not a limited time.

I hope you get somewhere with them. This is outright theft, one of the reasons I want my ENTIRE contract in writing before I'll sign anything. It's always satisfying when companies try this kind of shit and you simply drop the paperwork on the desk and tell them to get stuffed.

That's shitty vish. I've been with Rogers for 5 years now and have had nothing but great service. I've received multiple discounts spanning my 3 year contracts (2 so far). Plus multiple phone upgrades 1 year into term. It goes unsaid that this happens with Telus Rogers and bell though. I think it's great that you sent Steele an email. But honestly they'll never air it with Rogers being so closely connected to the media industry. When chuck Olsen first started it was awesome, he bust in companies and totally expose them. Now it's more a consumer reports type program , like which toaster is better for your money. But I commented you for sticking to your convictions. I still think its fucked we pay almost 30% more for our cells than the rest of the world.

I'm not sure when your contract is up, but retentions started acting like this just recently.  I think at most 5-6 months ago.
I've been a long time customer and I have a pretty good contract with lots of credits etc....but hearing how retentions are not renewing credits and to do stuff that Vish has pointed out is disheartening.

I just got blown off by retentions on trying to renew my contract and getting a 2 4S on Telus 1 month and 13 days early. We just asked for a drop in the fee and he wouldn't do anything for us in reduction of the fee

Vish, had you tried switching to Fido? They are under the same roof and give you a lower ECF ($100 or so) and a brand new contract.

I just got an awesome deal from Fido on my renewal. Now I am awaiting the first bill to make sure all the credits are applied. But now I am worried if the credit will last the duration of my contract.

Anyhow good luck and keep us posted!

Rogers announced that they outright will refuse discount pricing on their plans saying that their clientele is receiving the services they need at the right price (read the idiots who just pay their bill without realizing they are being gouged)

Vish, You might want to contact the CRTC.  I had a problem with transferring a cell phone number between carriers and it got resolved quite promptly after contacting the CRTC.
