-21C at 9:00 a.m. now it's only -8C and snow is forecast for tomorrow.
Just after midnight there was fog depositing ice that made frost on the trees and everything looked real "Christmasy" this morning.

Saturday and again Monday it's supposed to have a high of +8C here.  Santa may have to put wheels on his sleigh.  What the hell is going on here!   Huh  We're going to get warmer than you guys on those two days.

an amendment to the above post:

"11:25 PM MST Saturday 17 December 2011
Freezing rain warning for
Whitecourt - Edson - Fox Creek - Swan Hills continued

Patchy freezing rain tonight.

A cold front is moving through Central Alberta this evening and overnight dropping surface temperatures below zero. Radar indicates that a band of freezing rain and wet snow has formed along the cold front from Edson through the city of Edmonton to Lloydminster. This band of precipitation is moving southward and the freezing rain associated with it is expected to end overnight."

Just came home from Xmas shopping in the city with the Mazda.  Very interesting drive home.  Most of the big trucks are pulled over and parked.  Poor little Mazda got thrown around some with the heavy thick slushy snow and had an inch coating of frozen slush covering the front except for the lights.
Highway was clear in the morning going in and just a little wet, the temperature was +2c or better.  Drastic change in conditions.

-10C right now here and going down to -18C tonight.  It's been a while since it's been cold like this.  Weird winter this year.
Yesterday it was up to ~+10C and now this.

Yeah, Bill posts pictures of his car and newly acquired rims, with not a snowflake to be seen.  That's just mean.

Come and visit then my pretty! Hehehehe!  Evil
We're forecast to go into the freezer.
Monday  Cloudy with 60 percent chance of flurries. Low minus 25. High minus 21.
Tuesday  Cloudy with 60 percent chance of flurries. Low minus 28. High minus 21.

I think I'm going skiing Friday at Marmot near Jasper.  (299 cm snowfall and 109 cm base)  Thursday night is supposed to be a low of -6 and a high of 0 on Friday, then things start going downhill.

its cold enough, it may as well be white out...would make no difference. lol. I just realized that when its hot and sunny out, everyone is happy all the time - including myself. cold and darkness brings on bad moods and grumpy old people. It is as if people just whither away in the dampness that is the northwest.

Yep, i'm moving south. Enough of this. Who wants to buy my car? lol

fixed: I've noticed that people of all ages are grumpy, depressed and bitchy when it's cold, grey and damp outside!
