Sorry for the short notice but seeing as the weather is freakin' awesome, I think us island folks should finally meet up and put faces to names!

I was thinking that we would go for a cruise then head out for dinner as a group!

Where:
Michells Farm Market
2451 Island View Rd
Saanichton, BC V8M 1W3

When:
February 11th, 2012
3:15pm

We can decide where to go for dinner afterwards or during the cruise. If you have any suggestions feel free to... well... suggest it lol.

Hope to see some of you out there!

wow this is going to be awesome! lol

Im definitely in for highway shots if your photographer want to do moving shots!

As for where we meet - go, im cool with whatever. The reason Max suggested the farm is just because we found some great roads up there. The other thing we have to consider is parking...downtown areas will be impossible to find parking for all of us.

Let's brainstorm some more ideas though. I know we will all be open to meeting anywhere.

Did you UT already? I don't see you on campus anymore or I don't park in that area anymore.

I picked the farm because there's a nice route over there and downtown might be too busy on a Saturday but really I'm up for anything.

And Marc, you just want those highway rolling shots eh? Lol

I just remembered I have a commitment at 6:30 DT Sad but I will show up for as long as I can Smiley Maybe we set up another meet further down road too?? When I set up the bimmer meets we'd meet at Timmy's and there was no lack of parking and we had 8 BMW's show up one time...on the other hand if we meet at the farm, is there coffee sold there? Jus gimmie coffee and no one get's hurt Smiley LOL JK!

But like I said earlier I'm down for whatever Smiley

My G/F is a pretty good photographer, so the idea of shooting some cars and doing some rolling shots really interests her.  We'll have a couple of DSLRs with us.

The Penny Farthing pub in Oak Bay has pretty good pub fare, and relatively reasonable prices.  I've never been to the Spaghetti Factory, but that might work well, other than some parking challenges.  I'll try to think of some other places to stop for food.

So my sister was just at the Speghetti Factory and saw a mouse run across the floor..lol. That with the lack of parking puts that out for me...

Oak Bay would be a good area...we could end our drive doing dallas road and then end in oak bay...

lol this^

So how does everyone think about these 2 plans - taking into consideration parking/open roads free from lights and traffic.

Option A
Meet up along pat bay going north. Jump into the hills with the cars and do some italian tune ups (we know of a pretty good route) then end up in millstream where we can easily park together and grab some food either in millstream of up at the bear. This would also give us a chance to get some video drive-by shots and some good photography.

Option B
Meet up going south - take a cruise along the waterfront and end up in Oak bay at a place where we can all park together and get some shots taken. This is a bit closer to town for most and involves less driving and more slow scenic stuff.

Oh and keep in mind, weather is saying rain for Saturday but it doesn't really matter to me...its always a good time.
