Having an impractical car now or when you are in your 50s.

I'm in the market for a S2K if the right one pops up at the right price. So I'd say do it!

First time through the gears you'll be hooked. The ONLY reason I haven't owned one is that I'm 6'2" and there's not a ton of headroom in those little things.

That's why the top comes off... Wink

Smiley, if you drive it, you're dead, because you WILL want one.  The miata has always been a wonderful driver's car.  The steering is perfect, the shifter action sweet, the responsiveness and feel of the car... I could go on and on.

All of this said -- do it.  Yesterday.  Moreso because it sounds like you are at a time in life that you can swing it financially; if it stresses you financially, don't.  I've been told that toys are often grandfathered into marriages.  This is your chance if you're gonna marry that girl!

You guys are trying to get him killed (murdered)!   Grin

Just for the record:  I'm in trouble with the wife (almost, probably) continuously.  It's just a case of varying degrees of severity.  Grin  A smile and shrug help.

bcmazda3 veterans are probably well aware of this but...

rule 1. Never ask bcmazda3 members for advice (we are very encouraging in the wrong ways)
rule 2. Refer to rule 1.

Qualifier:  Especially about buying cars we'd like to own or buy ourselves!   Wink
Other stuff has a higher likelihood of being reliable.

Imma listen to uncle t.  I can afford it kinda if I don't do anything else.  But I am planning on proposing not to mention possibly going back to school for a year or two so not a good time to waste any monies ATM.   Thank u everyone for the 'encouragement' though!

If you can afford it, just do it. Life is too short.

LAWL.

Yeah.

I think I'll hold off for now.  My baby's driving so fine right now and it'd be a shame to trade her in or to get a mistress.

I've got some other things down the pipes that I'm exploring as well.  Possibly going back to school/career change so you know sinking more money into a car right now is probably not a good idea.  LOL
