That is really scary man.

I always have my GPS unit in the car as well as many other things.  Embarrassed

If my car gets broken into, i am in about $1000 loss. Shit.

Our 3's security sucks if yours got broken into with a problem!!!!

My MPV, has an after market ALpine system, that is just beautiful, if someone even kicks the tires, the system starts alarming right away.

If we take out the key mechanism from the driver's door so that the only way to get in is by remote, will that help?

Definately you should go and ask the dealter about changing the locks.

It is very scary not to know, how the hell someone broke into the car without any visible harm.

If they can do it now, they can do it any time.

I think who ever borke in, was a pro, but then why didnt he take the important stuff?

I am going to look into getting alpine security system and will let you know, how much it cost.
Without a good security system, all other mods are useless, cos they will just get stolen. Sad

im positive 200% that i locked it ... i never click the lock button once i always click it 2times and wait for the beep
this is beacuse if ur window or door is open (at least on the 05 models) it wont beep ... it will lock doors but not beep as a security measure i guess... neways the car beeped so im positive it was locked... how whoevere got in is a f***in mystery to me... its as if they were in the car all along :S

not exactly true......if u pressed "unlock" on ur remote after u turn off the car, then it will lock itself after some time period. but if u have just finish a drive and left the car and have not locked or unlocked the car, ur car will stay unlock

Most likely he used that coat hanget trick to open your car.

i dont think our alarm sounds if you open the car that way.

em I am not sure on this......door, hood or trunk open = no beep but I left my windows open.....still beep

so who park at the temp lot? That lot is dead quiet so it is easy target for B&E.

did you try use the key to open the door now? coz they might screwed the cyclinder while getting access....as turn of the cylinder will disarm the "security"

Was going to ask the same thing, to try your key out in your lock now. If it has any kind of damage, it should be harder to get the key in.

We have the same problem VW has with their locks (or had, not sure with their new stuff) where if the lock cylinder is turned, no matter if the key works or not it will disable the alarm.

VW started selling dummy cylinders for their cars, which I wish we had. I am thinking of trying to get a cover from the rear door from the junker so I can just replace it and have no key lock.
