Jared, a few of us are thinking of making the trek. We will know in the next couple of weeks. Might just? buddy up and take less cars to minimize the ferry hit each of us will take.

Well since it's over a month away, we don't have a set plan yet....

Basically we'll meet at town & country, where we go after that is completely up to suggestions, whether it be bowling or dinner or whatever....who knows!

If you guys are gonna be coming over here we could always change it to Saturday, April 1st (April fools!) ....and turn it into a drive up to Tofino or something.

oh god that would be intense.  might be a little far unless we are camping out up there.  Thats a long drive unless they take the ferry to nanaimo instead and we meet them up there.

A drive would definitely be awesome. I'd consider spending the night if my compadres did also. I realllllllly need a weekend away.

I'd stay for a weekend if that is the plan. Just let me know ASAP on a confirmed date so I can maybe take a Friday and Monday off too.

I think we should do a Saturday morning cruise up there via Nanaimo to meet up with the van city people.

Saturday would be better as most people have to work on Friday.  Then those who want to stay over / camp can do so...I'll check with my buddy he knows a good place of there that a bunch of us could stay at for cheap if we all chip in (it's a house I think).

Who's interested?

That sounds absolutely perfect. We just need an exact date so that whoever is coming can book time off work. Guys, shall we leave the evening of March 31st and go for Saturday April 1st, return on either Sunday April 2nd or Monday April 3rd? Also, from the Van side, who's in?

I think it's a better option to do a Saturday morning meet up on the first Nanaimo ferry....not much point  in driving there Friday night as you'll get off the ferry late then still drive there for 2+ hours.  It's not worth it for Friday night.

Doh, yes, what I thinking lol. Saturday afternoon would probably be best, as it will take us a couple of hours on the ferry, and who knows how prompt our guys will be.

Saturday April 1st is the date. I wouldn't book time off until we know how many people are coming.

At least from our side, we will need some advance notice so we can arrange with employers. Thus, at least 3 weeks notice would work. Wrangle up the islanders and let's see what we can do. Is there a venue we can go to and maybe have a BBQ or something of the like?

The ferry to Nanaimo is only like an hour....and I believe the earliest is 7 a.m. .  it's up to you guys when you wanna come over though.  Check the schedule at www.bcferries.com

Also, here's the accomodation website, as you guys can see there's TONS of places to rent out:
