I work with a guy who sneezed while bending over to pick something up.
He was out of work and in chronic pain for SIX YEARS. It finally took a lawsuit against WCB to get him into a proper specialist (one not employed by WCB) who cured him with minor surgery. He's back at work and right as rain now.
It's amazing how a little thing like a sneeze can do serious damage.

I hope that doesn't happen to me (the aftermath) but the things prior to the back spasms were pretty much the same - I sneezed and felt the back muscle pull. A short while later I sat down on the stairwell to look at something and when I tried to get back up, the sharp pain started and I couldn't stay up properly. I feel better now although I still can't bend over to pick up things - the back is still really tight and painful at times  |

Maybe work more in the meanwhile. I'm assuming you are going back in January? Save up some cash and then go to school full time with no work. That way you can focus.
