Hi all,

Looks like a great site for Mazda fans, me being one Smiley I've been searching like mad for a local (BC) MPV site or club to join. Does this site have an active MPV area or a sister-site for MPV owners?

TIA,

From a previous MPV owner, I can tell you you won't find much luck in finding a local MPV forum.

there is a sub-section at www.bcmazda.com..there used to be a few MPV threads.

Hey thanks for the replies all!

I really don't understand why the MPV is so under-rated, its the best minivan out there Smiley I look at Japanese and other Asian countries and minivans in general are modified a great deal more than here. Oh well.

I've done a few on-the-cheap changes as our van is mainly a family ride. If you like you can have a look here: http://www.pbase.com/metalfab/mpv

The MPV is fantastic. I think Donald had a nice looking previous generation MPV also.

And your van looks great. Welcome to the site!

^ assume from his user name, his is 03 which is 9 yr newer then mine previous van...

the new ones are pretty nice looking. Just that the size is small in terms of a minivan for the North Americans....

Smaller but, better handling and faster (zoom-zoom) Wink

Family of 4, the MPV has all the room we need, even on 2 week long camping trips, np.

yup that's why Mazda release Mazda5 as many doesn't need the capacity of 7.

and Mazda is the first to have row down windows on the two rear sliding doors

Even if the M5 was available at the time we bought the MPV we'd still get the MPV. On weekend or longer trips we have 5 people in the van and need the space. The M5 with 5 people + luggage/camping gear would be too small. The M5 at 1538KG is not much lighter than the MPV at 1690KG ...and the torque on the M5 is 148 @ 4500RPM where as the MPV's torque is 200 @ 3000RPM. More power to carry more stuff Wink Don't get me wrong, the M5 is a very nice car. The 10G difference in price makes it a very tempting vehical. Grin

so your MPV is 03 2nd hand?

more power (V6 compare to a I4) = more gas....depends how much you commute during the weekdays..

and get a M5 in manual, it will feel a lot more nimble.

My 5spd manual previa beats a lot of car off the line at stop lights..Grin

Actually our MPV was bought new, just had its 3rd anniversary in May Smiley
I find it hits the sweet spots faster in city driving if the OD is off, thats as close as I'll get to manual in a minivan Wink
