Okay, so since we have a real live winnipegger, and a thread with Winnipeg in the title... I need to ask this question... I was in Winnipeg for work last week, and on Sunday night, I saw the weirdest thing. All the way down Portage, not so much downtown, but more in the areas west of there... people sitting along the side of the street. Lawn chairs.. on hoods of cars.. on the curb.. in parking lots etc. And I don't mean like a few people.. I mean hundreds! There were a few ricers cruising around... was it just a car watching kind of thing? Or was there something I didn't know about? I kept expecting to see fireworks or something. What gives?

Winnipeg isn't very small... almost 3/4 of a million... I'm originally from Brandon... two hours west of Winnipeg... now _that_ is small I still get to go back to Manitoba for work once in a while though, which is fun. I didn't even recognize winnipeg though. I sat outside on a patio at 10pm, and didn't swat a single mosquito! What the hell? Why, when I lived there, we had to attach weights to our dogs, so the mosquitos wouldn't carry them off!

last year was really bad....but this year - for some reason they're all gone!!! but the bad part is that the west nile virus hit manitoba, so we really have to watch out for those mosquitos.

There's no mosquitoes since we haven't had any rain in the last few months. But there are more wasps around now instead...

I know! My 2 month old son got bit on the eyelid by a damned wasp walking into the hotel! Took me 15 minutes to calm him down... and an hour to calm his mom down
