I find when I log in or try to log in the server takes way to long. Not just from my home PC but from work to. In the last 2 to 4 months this seems to be getting worse. Is it a server? the Hosting company? I dunno...but this seems to happen alot now..

ran the forum test for errors, one was found but I don't think it was the one causing the slow response time and database errors. I've sent an e-mail to Hidz as he's the one with the golden key to the server to see what's going on. In terms of the database and what I can do on my end, everything seems fine. I know that at times, it's hard to get onto the site, even at wee early times when traffic is way down.

yeah i was thinking that when the connection problem started happening. before it wasn't so bad. Now, it's getting to the point of frustration where I can't even get on to do forum backup a lot of the times. I usually do them round midnight if I'm off work but now I'm doing it way earlier so incase the bloody server goes boom, we at least have something.

when you hit the read unread topics, there's also another option to try 'all unread topics'. See if that will work for you. I've had numerous times where I've come on and I've got like 3 topics on or none.
